What is it?

HIFU uses an ultrasonic transducer similar to those used for diagnostic imaging, but with much higher energy. The transducer focuses sound waves at a point in the body to generate heat and destroy the target tissue.

Can it really help with skin tightening?

HIFU for skin tightening is a non-invasive treatment used to lift facial areas including the cheeks, eyebrows, chin and neck. It increases collagen production, firming the skin and helping to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Are there any incisions?

There are no incisions, scars and no recovery time required for after this treatment.

How long do the benefits of HIFU last?

The effects of the HIFU treatments can last anywhere from 1-2 years, depending on the individuals skin condition and aging process. Maintenance treatments may be recommended every 6-12 months to help prolong results.

Are there any side effects?

Blotchy skin is the most common side effect if you have sensitive skin or are prone to redness. This side effect is not permanent and will usually go away a few hours after treatment.
